Overview

For 2010, the Subaru Tribeca continues largely unchanged. It features a trendy bigger grille integrated with the front bumper, body panels, rear quarter-windows, mirrors, and taillights. The 2010 Subaru Tribeca midsize SUV seats five or seven (with an optional third row), and is available in Premium, Limited and Touring models. A new 7-passenger Touring model joins the lineup.

Powertrain And Performance

The 3.6 liter, 256-hp 6-cylinder Subaru Boxer engine teams with automatic transmission and all-wheel drive in the Subaru Tribeca. The new engine?s torque is now 247 lb-ft which translates into improved low-end power. Subaru has re-tuned the transmission for smoother shifts, to help with quicker highway passing. Fuel economy is 16/21 mpg (city/highway).

Build And Styling

The new 2010 Tribeca now wears a one-piece grille with chrome upper lining, three horizontal crossbars, and a deeper front air-dam that gives the Tribeca a more substantial presence. Headlights and taillights receive a new treatment. Larger rearview mirrors and rear windows improve visibility. The Tribeca interiors are very contemporary; functional, and have upscale materials and excellent ergonomics offer 7-passenger seating. The snug cabin has a central console that curves smoothly into the dash and instrument panel. Base trims get air conditioning with dual-zone automatic climate controls; rear air conditioning with rear controls (7-passenger); interior air filter; tilt leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio controls; cruise control; cloth upholstery; front bucket seats with lumbar adjustment; 8-way power driver seat; 4-way power passenger seat; center console; 2nd-row adjustable split folding rear seat; 3rd-row split folding seat (7-passenger); heated power mirrors; power windows; power door locks; and remote keyless entry. Also standard are a trip computer; outside-temperature indicator; variable-intermittent wipers with de-icer; illuminated visor mirrors; rear defogger, intermittent rear wiper/washer; automatic-off headlights; floormats; a 100-watt 6-speaker audio system with single-in-dash CD player and MP3 compatibility; an optional 3rd-row Package; XM or SIRIUS Satellite Radio capability; and storage compartment with net in cargo-area side panel. The Special Edition adds leather-trimmed upholstery; 3-stage heated front seats; 2-position driver's seat memory; rear-cabin air conditioner with control for 4-speed fan; and optional 3rd-row seating. The Limited adds to the Special Edition, a 160-watt 9-speaker premium audio system with subwoofer; 6-disc in-dash CD changer with MP3 compatibility; black-finish raised roof rails (150-lb. Capacity); power tilt/sliding-glass moonroof; and HomeLink remote transmitter with 3 memory settings. Optional are 3rd-row Package; Navigation Package; 3rd-row and Navigation Package; 3rd-row, Navigation; and DVD Entertainment Package. The new top-of-the-line 2010 Tribeca Touring is equipped rolls swiftly on 18-inch wheels with dynamic headlights, power moonroof, auto-dimming mirror with integrated 3.5-inch backup camera display. Navigation System and the combined Navigation and Rear Seat Entertainment System (RSES) packages are available.

Safety Features

The 2010 Tribeca's safety features include dual front airbags; front side airbags; front- and 2nd-row curtain side airbags with rollover deployment; front-seat active head restraints; anti-lock 4-wheel disc brakes; brake assist; anti-skid system with rollover sensors; tire-pressure monitor; and daytime running lights. A navigation system with rear view camera and rear-obstacle detection is available as optional.
